Did you know that the growing prevalence of type 2 diabetes is a significant issue for the health of Australians? Type 2 diabetes accounts for more than 80 percent of all registered cases of diabetes in Australia and is the leading cause of blindness, amputation, kidney damage and heart disease.
This National Diabetes Week, Westfund Health Insurance has teamed up with Diabetes Queensland to continue to actively support the health and wellbeing of our members, like you. Together, we believe it’s vital that you know the signs and symptoms of diabetes and are aware of your risk.
If you’re already living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes and are interested in receiving more information on future programs and services, please complete the below survey.
If you haven’t been diagnosed with diabetes, this is an opportunity for you to identify your risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The benefits of completing this online health check are twofold. Firstly, you’ll know if you’re at risk of developing type 2 diabetes and will be able to access advice on how to prevent or delay it. Secondly, we’ll gain valuable insights into how we can focus our support programs so members like you will be able to receive vital resources at the time that you may need them most.
Survey results will be used by Diabetes Queensland and Westfund Health Insurance to develop new products, programs or services related to the prevention and management of diabetes.
If type 2 diabetes is detected early, adopting a healthy lifestyle that includes a balanced diet and exercise can prevent or delay 60 percent of cases.
