Liz’s mushroom sauce
Serves 4 (serving size 80g)
I love to serve this versatile sauce with steak, but it can
just as easily be served on toast for breakfast!
It's not a traditionally 'saucy' recipe but it has fantastic
fresh flavours and is an easy way to sneak extra vegetables on my
plate without adding all the cream found in a traditional
300g mushrooms (I usually use button mushrooms, but any type
1 clove of garlic, crushed
2 sprigs of fresh thyme, chopped
2 tsp of balsamic vinegar
Cracked pepper to garnish
Saute the mushrooms and garlic in a small saucepan over low heat
for about 6-10 minutes until the mushrooms are nice and soft, stir
Remove from heat and stir in balsamic vinegar and thyme.
Garnish generously with cracked pepper.
