The Diabetes management for health professionals - Webinar Series provides 5 hours of Health Professional Education delivered in three sessions.  It is delivered by Diabetes Queensland clinical experts utilising recorded webinar technology. 


Diabetes management for health professionals is for nurses, diabetes educators, podiatrists, pharmacists, dietitians, exercise physiologists, general practitioners and allied health professionals working in general practice, aged care, rural health, community and hospitals.


The webinar conferencing system allows the Diabetes management for health professionals program to be shared with locations around Queensland. 


The program will be broadcast from the Diabetes Queensland training rooms utilising a combination of power point presentations, voice and video to facilitate learning.


Diabetes management for health professionals webinar series is endorsed by the Royal College of Nursing and offers 5 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.


Course Content

  • Part 1: Diabetes classification, pathophysiology, nutrition and physical activity.


  • Part 2: Pharmacology - blood glucose lowering medications including insulin. 


  • Part 3: Glucose monitoring, diabetes-related complications and self-management education.
