Diabetes management

Health professionals play a key role in helping people with diabetes to self-manage their condition.  There are a number of resources available with the latest up-to-date information to help you help others to manage diabetes.


Diabetes Queensland provides a number of services, programs and events for people who have diabetes, with information on diabetes management and raising awareness of the compliations associated with diabetes.  


Services and programs for people with type 1 diabetes 


Diabetes Basics

Developed to provide support for children at school who have type 1 diabetes while they are at school.



DAFNE stands for Dose Adjustment For Normal Eating. It is an evidence-based structured group education program for adults with type 1 diabetes.


Kids Camps

We provide grants of up to $5,000 to organisations who run camps for children under 18 who have type 1 diabetes. 


Youth Transition service

A mail out service supporting young people with type 1 diabetes as they move to adulthood.

EXPOsing Diabetes

An educational program for people with type 2 diabetes. 


DESMOND program information and registration

A program for people who are newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, or who need further education on diabetes management.  


Diabetes education workshops

Diabetes Queensland offers short 2-3 hour workshops for people living with diabetes. These workshops cover different individual topics such as carbohydrates, medications and keeping your feet healthy.
