What health professionals are saying about
"Working as a DESMOND educator is very empowering. It provides a
great framework to let go of information we feel as educators we
need to give people and work with the group to explore their needs
and support them in developing their own action plan. I love
"The feedback from patients I have met post DESMOND has been
fantastic with them wanting to explain the changes they have made
and their motivation to continue making and maintaining
"The ongoing quality development (QD) process ensures
consistency and competency in delivery and I have not had a formal
QD process in other programs I have delivered".
"DESMOND is the only style of education I have been involved in
which has 'built in' QD assessment".
What people living with diabetes are saying
"This is just what I needed. I have learned so much and feel so
"The information has de-mystified diabetes for me. Information
on monitoring and talking more to professionals. Thank you for the
"This is the best information session I have attended. I would
recommend this to anyone who is worried about diabetes
"For me it was more enjoyable being involved in a small group,
as we shared many ideas and discussed lots of things that I didn't
think of. Also was good to be with other people that had just been
diagnosed like me".
"Excellent. I wish I had been able to do this 10 years ago. I
learnt more today than in the last 10 years of my nursing
