Diabetes management for health professionals - Brisbane



Diabetes management for health professionals is a one day workshop for nurses and allied health professionals. It offers an interactive learning environment that supports participants to develop their skills in effective diabetes management.


Diabetes management for health professionals is endorsed by ACN according to our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Endorsed Course Standards. It has been allocated eight CPD hours according to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Continuing Professional Development Standard.


The course includes:

  • Epidemiology and classification of diabetes
  • Pathophysiology of diabetes
  • Nutrition and physical activity recommendations
  • Glucose lowering medication (oral and insulin)
  • Glucose monitoring
  • Hypoglycaemia/hyperglycaemia/diabetes emergencies
  • Sick day plans
  • Complications screening and prevention
  • Emotional well-being/supporting self-management
  • National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS)
