Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit

Diabetes Queensland provides a voice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with diabetes, advocating for the health and wellbeing of Indigenous Queenslanders aan urgent priority. We lobby State and Federal Governments to provide services for our First Nations People aligning with the National Diabetes Strategy and the recommendations from communities across Queensland.

We work with communities, the health sector and government agencies to develop and deliver culturally appropriate education services and programs to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders living with diabetes and their families.

We are also here to answer any questions you may have about your diabetes. If you are looking for support with your diabetes management you can get in touch with us for a yarn at IndigenousHealthUnit@diabetesqld.org.au or phone on 1800 637 700.
