A new tool to encourage children to manage their diabetes has been developed by a local Brisbane schoolgirl with type 1 diabetes. Amy Leverington, 13 years old, has designed two versions of her specially adapted “Diabetes Diary” – one for girls and one for boys.
Diabetes has a significant impact on children and their families. However, with the proper education and tools in diabetes management, the effects can be greatly reduced.
Amy’s diabetes diaries have been sponsored by pharmaceutical manufacturer Novo Nordisk and are available free to kids with diabetes at diabetes clinics and at Diabetes Australia – Queensland. For more information and to order your diary, call 1300 136 588. |
