A gift in your will or in memory to Diabetes Queensland makes a world of difference in our fight to reduce the impact of diabetes across the Queensland community.

Gifts in memory

Celebrate a life in a special way with In Memoriam Giving.

Donating to Diabetes Queensland in memory of a loved one, or asking family and friends to donate in lieu of flowers at a funeral, is a positive and lasting way of celebrating a person's life.

Many families choose to honour their loved one by requesting donations to Diabetes Queensland in lieu of flowers, or by organising an event to raise funds in their memory.

You may create an online tribute using Everyday Hero or request our Gift in Memory reply paid envelopes for services. To receive a supply of remembrance envelopes or for any enquiries please contact our Helpline on 1300 136 588 or via our online form

A tax deductible receipt will be sent to all identified donors. We also send acknowledgement of contributions (name only, not amount) to the family or next of kin.

This wonderful gift will be used to improve the health and wellness of Queenslanders living with diabetes. Any gift, no matter the size, helps people with all types of diabetes.

Every gift makes a difference

Diabetes Queensland works hard to improve the lives of people living with diabetes, and to provide them and their families with up-to-date information and support.

For more than 40 years, we have worked to turn diabetes around in Queensland. This purpose drives everything we do - from developing awareness and prevention programs to detection and management strategies, and our ultimate goal - to find a cure for diabetes.

For example, our support of research through the Diabetes Queensland Research Grant Fund and the Diabetes Australia Research Trust enables you to change the lives of future generations.

Diabetes Queensland has a range of programs that provide ongoing education, support and advice. We work hand-in-hand with the government, other health organisations, media and community groups, to improve the health of people living with, or at risk, of diabetes.

How to leave a Gift in your Will

Leaving a gift in your Will is easy. This gift is a simple process that can touch the lives of people who need our support - even after you are gone.

Your lasting gift will help children and adults living with diabetes now and into the future. Your gift will also help those who love and care for them. It will help to deliver support services, as well as benefit countless people for many years, through our commitment to research and improving the lives of people with all types of diabetes.

A Will enables you to say exactly what you want to happen to your assets and is your lasting legacy.

Making a Will ensures that your family knows how you would like your assets to be distributed, and means you can continue to look after those you care about after your death. You can review and update your Will at any time, particularly when your circumstances change.

Diabetes Queensland recommends that you obtain independent legal advice from a solicitor or the Public Trustee when updating or making a new Will.
